If I am named executor in a will, does that mean I am automatically executor of the estate?

The right of election of a surviving spouse and the rights of the surviving spouse to homestead allowance, exempt property and family allowance, or any of them, may be waived, wholly or partially, before or after marriage, by a written contract, agreement, or a waiver signed by the party waiving after fair disclosure.

Often times I get asked whether or not it is a good idea to put particular people in a will. This can be sons and daughters or nieces and nephews or even good friends. If you are going to name them as beneficiaries and your will to receive some part of your estate, it is important that you know about their life.

You never know when life is going to take its toll. You never know when your time has come. Do not wait until it is too late to do something about it. Get your affairs in order to save your family further heartache and stress.
